My oldest daughter

by Jen26_1982, Mar 15, 2009 11:03AM
My oldest daughter is 4 yrs old, every morning she gets up around 5:30am. Normally bedtime is at 8pm but we've been letting her stay up until 10pm in hopes of getting her to sleep in until around 7:30 or 8:00. Nothing we have tried works, we cut out all excess sugar (she is only allowed one cup of juice a day).  She is getting sleep and appears rested, but my concern is for my other two children, she wakes them up with her.  My 3 yr old daughter sometimes has circles under her eyes from lack of sleep.  My youngest two take regular naps, but I worry.  Is there a way to get her to sleep  that I haven't tried.

Have you brought her to the doc to be evaluated neurologically? is she on any meds? You can actually talk to your doctor about melatonin its all natural sleep aid for adults but can be given to children. I have dealt with this situation with my oldest son for over 3 years. Have you noticed any other things besides just not sleeping in? Her only sleepin til 5 is actually pretty good. Is she very active during the rest of the day? Any nght terrors?
