RITALIN & DEXAMPHETAMINE COMBINATION

My doctor has just recently changed my prescription from Ritalin to Dexamphetamine. I was instructed to decrease the Ritalin by one at a time & start the Dexamphetamine with one....now a couple of weeks later, I have decreased the Ritalin by 2 & increased the Dex by 2. I am not taking these at the same time...but I am finding the Dex is making me feel dopey & in lala land (or - its not working) I am feeling quite awful...its like I'm on anti-depressants.
Is there a possible reaction with taking these combinations in the same day? Any feedback or advice would be really helpful.

Quick thought is that it is working and you are experiencing an overdose of one or the other or both together. At any rate, you need to let your doctor know what is going on!
