Vyvanse

Vyvanse

Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse.  I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more.  I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself.  So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before.  Has anyone experienced this?  I also noticed that Vyvanse lasts about 6 hours for me so my Doctor gave me 20 mg Adderral to take in the morning and then I take the Vyvanse in the afternoon.  I am also trying to quit chewing and was wondering if nicotine has an effect when taking these medications?  It seems when I take Adderral or Vyvanse the cravings increase!  If anyone has any thoughts let me know, thank you.

I started Vyvanse back in August 2010, and it was the miracle that I've been searching for. Over a span of 4 years, I've taken stimulants including: Concerta, 30mg Adderall (adderrall) IR, and 30mg Adderall (adderrall) XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall (adderrall) XR completely sucked. Adderall (adderrall) IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall (adderrall) is horrible in comparison.

I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now. This has been my adjusted dose from trying 20mg, 30mg, and 50mg. 50mg was wayy too much at the time. 30mg was perfect until about a month ago. It lasted about 12 hours, a huge improvement over 4 hours of Adderall (adderrall) IR. However, now it is not as strong, because my tolerance is beginning to build. That is the same problem you are having. It is very weak for me now. I have to get my meds adjusted to 40mg. It is difficult for me to stay awake without a sufficient stimulant. So this is kind of a problem.

I was just taken off vyvance 30 mg because it shot my bp to a scary level. I noticed i smoked alot more when i was on it, but i think it just goes with the territory, anykind of upper is going to increase cravings for caffeine. I would peak after about four hours and then crash really hard and i lost a drastic amount of weight while on it. I am currently not takn anything and feel better than i have in years. The problem with these types of meds is you build a tolerance quickly as with any amphetimine. I have been on every ADHD med available and built a tolerance to them all vyvance was the last straw for me so i told my dr. Enough is enough. I am taking hebal remedies now and seem to be doing just fine and yoga as well. I cant say i will never go back but i just needed a break. Good luck to you

You may wanna try Wellbutrin XL 150 to help you quit smoking. I drastically eliminated my desire to drink alcohol and smoke. I was on Adderall (adderrall) IR 20 but that just made my heart race and didn't really help so much with cravings. I developed a kidney stone and bladder issues from taking apmhetamine based stimulants, so currently off Vyvanse and Adderall (adderrall).

I'm trying to manage my symptoms by taking Wellbutrin XL 150 twice a day, and taking Tyrosine.  We'll see how long it lasts....
