child and defiant behavior plus

6 year old male, inappropriate urination in forbidden places, defiant, stubborn and argumentative at times but otherwise very sweet child.  Has never eaten enough to even speak of.  Is on Vivanse (for adhd) and has also started with forced eye movements and odd movements (twitches) of his head. Discipline in the past has consisted of parents having reached their limit and been somewhat extremely loud and vocal with him which only infuriates him and the 'match is on'.  What is going on? All parties involved need some help and advise before this continues much longer.  Thank you.

At my kids schools they have this program to help with discipline, and any other problems that they may, and the great thing is that it works at home too. It is call 123 Magic. There is I think three vidoes that go with the program. most Librarys have it to check out. the program is pretty easy to follow. all of our schools use it from pre-k to 12th grade. I kow that my kids are happier with this program compared to the other ones that they have had in the past.  Maybe this might help.

Ya, loud and vocal doesn't work.  Parents should not have to reach the place where they  have reached their limits.  That means they didn't stop it before it got to them.  Basically the parents need guidance on how to work with a ADHD child.  My guess is that they have been going through a pediatrician.  They tend to medicate and not give advice on how to deal with all the other baggage.  Not really their fault.  They don't have the training or the time.  A psychologist or psychiatrist would be more helpful.
But the most help will come from getting information on what ADHD is and how to help the child.  Probably my best suggestion is to get the book, "The ADD/ ADHD Answer book," by Susan Ashley.  Buy several copies and spread it around.  Please post if you have any more questions.
