my 4 yrs old granddaughter calls her hands and feet mom and dad
her father passed away 3 years ago and i don't kinow if to keep this up or stop
i have custody and great grandmother keeps her also the mom is seldom around
If your granddaughter's father died when she was only one year old, this would not affect her unless those around her cause it to be a problem. I was away with my two toddlers for three weeks without my husband. When he joined us the one-and-a-half-year old looked very surprised and it took him a while to register that his father was back. He had forgotten all about him. The three-year-old did remember her father, and was angry with him.
If the mother is now also out of the picture I think that is more of a problem, that is, if she was around a lot to begin with.
