I am 61 yr old female started talking Adderall XR 30mg. works great till about 2-3pm. it seems to run out of whatever.
I am diagnosed with ADD.  Do you think it would be too much Adderall, if I ask the Doc. to take another one around
2pm.? I am worried I heard it can be addictive.
This is my 1st time here. I want to know before I talk to my doc. Thanks  Chirs

What dose is he currently taking?

30mg is the maximum recommended dose for children ages 6-12.

Is the medication not effective or does it work, but not last long enough?

I think that is too much for such a young child. I have a 4 year old who started taking 10 mg. After the second day of taking the medication I noticed he started to grind his teeth. I immediately stopped the medication. Now, I am giving him half the capsule (which I know is not evenly dispursed) but it is helping him in school and he no longer grinds his teeth, which is one of the side effects that this medication has. I would get a second opinion to see if what they recommend.
Good luck.
