see my post above about Neurofeedback.
I would look into making sure that he has ADHA, My Son was on meds for only a year and a half and he couldn't learn and would get call's from school and when I would go get him he would be fine.but after talking with his doctor about everything about 4 times ,he finally sent us for a egg and thou it would be fine.well it was not .my son has seizures every day and the med's are not working. And now I wish I never had put him on med's for ADHD.becuase the seizures are worse than ADHD can every be.
does he stair and when you or someone talks to him not hear you,is he hard to get up in the morning ,and have you every notice that when he is sleeping at night that his arm legs feet or mouth jerk.
good luck.
caring mother and don't wish anyone to go threw what I am.
Stratera is not a very good medicine for focus per what I have read. I assume that you tried Ritalin (slow release), Anderall and Metadate CD. These medicines are slow release stimulants and help more with the focus issues of ADD. Usually, the doctor gives Stratera only after trying stimulants and assuming that these do not work. Why Prozac at such a young age? Why mix medicines? If you find an ADHD medicine that works, the ODD might also be eliminated. Keep it simple with only one medicine if you can. I have a friend with an ADHD child and Metadate CD works best for her kid. She tried many other meds. She also gives the child Omega Fish oil from Nordic Naturals, multi vitamin, lots of sleep and exercise, no artificial coloring or preservatives in the food and no processed food (she cooks everything fresh). Good luck. This is only my opinion and I am not an expert doctor. You might also try another doctor's opinion on the medicine.
Meds do have to change as the child physically matures. Make sure his doctor knows what you have said is going on. Sometimes it does take a little trial and effort to find the correct dose. Good luck.
