when my son was about your son age.his teacher at school couldn't handle him and I ended up talk to my son doctor about ADHD, now I wish I didn't . 1 1/2 years after being on med's for ADHD I found out my son was having seizures.witch he has been threw a lot because of it.and this happen in 2006 and his seizures are still going on even with med's and have gotten worse over time.and on the 24th of this month he will have VNS surgery.

so make sure that med's is what you really want for ADHD because the side effects can be bad,or you could be treating him for the wrong thing.

You didn't mention what kind of a doctor you are seeing.  Many times a general MD isn't an expert in ADHD.  If you want better info look for a child psychologist - especially one that specializes in ADHD.
