HEEEELP!

my best friend who is a recovering drug addict, is back on drugs, and i wanna help him but he keeps telling me there isnt anything i can do and i just cant watch him do this to himself.  the problem is really bad, his family isnt talking to him, his friends arent talking to him, he lives with the most horrible people in the planet who arent helping him and i feel like im his only hope... i've never been addicted to anything so i cant relate to him, so i need your help! any advice, ideas, etc i would really appreciate them!

I am recovering addict, but I spent many years fighting recovery... which is what it seems like your friend is doing... but unfortunately you can't get an addict clean - oh sure, if you kept him locked in your house - you could temporarily keep him from getting high - but if he is not ready to stop using - nothing you can do or say will make it so...

I have a webpage based on my road to recovery and my relapses... maybe if you read it - you would get a better understanding of how addiction works.. and maybe you could get your friend to take a look at it - I have helped other addicts through my page - to get them at least THINKING about recovery... let me know how it works out.
