Hello. I am 18 year old male. I have muscle twiching and muscle ache in right arm and right leg during 1,5 month. I am realy scared ALS... But i have EMG test. It is ok. No spontaneous activity(fasciculations, positive sharp waves or fibrillations), good parameters of motor potentials, no denervation.
But i have some questions after neuro exam. I have symmetrical hyperreflexia and rossolimo reflex on right arm. But my MD(ALS specialist) said do not worry.  He said: "this is due to the expansion of the cerebral ventricles and the asymmetry of the vertebral arteries". I realy have it on my MRI. Please i want your opinion. I have ALS or BFS? family anamnesis - clear. My relatives don t have neuro problems

How many twitches you think you get in a day?

Anxiety can cause neuro symptoms to increase. Keep yourself busy.   You have no clinical weakness so I really think you okay.   Keep yourself busy

Hey everyone im 30 year old male. I have been have als symptoms since April. My body is twitching every where. I hurt my neck muscles feels like I had pinched nerves in both sides of my neck and both sides of my back in February of this year. I went to the doctor in March he gave me some steroids and muscle relaxer. In April my body started twitching everywhere face.neck, back and legs and arms. My mouth is dry and I have been having this feeling I have something stuck in my throat since April I was drink for a whole weekend and got sick so not sure if it's has anything to do with the muscle twitching. I never had any of these feelings before April. I have been dropping these everything like my cell phone kids toys all small things out my hands and have these weird feelings in my hands and feet. I went to my doctor in May I advised my doctor he did some blood work and pulled on my hands feet arms and legs to test my strength and tested my reflex and everything was fine doctor sound I have tremors and sent me to a Nervo doctor I advise of that is going on with me she made me walk around on my heels tippy toes write on thing on paper reflex test and strength test said everything was fine. I ask her again about the muscles twitching she said she doesn't see them twitching and I advised about my throat and feel horse she told me I don't sound low at this time  and that was it set up a follow up in 6 weeks. I went to see my physical therapist to get physical therapy on my neck she advised of little weakness in my left arm from my right arm but not sure because Iim left arm isn't my strong arm I'm right handed. Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Symmetric hyperreflexia is usually seen in hypocalcemia or low calcium, hypomagnesemia or low magnesium and in hyperthyroidism. This may also cause twitches and rossolimo type of reflex. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
