Concered

Hi, im a medical student from Europe. I had some anxiety about my health lately, possibly because of studying, I went to see a neurologist, beacause of my fair of neuromuscluar disease such as MS,MG and ALS, and he said everything is fine. No pathological reflexes, no atrophy and similar things. Now I have a feeling of tightness in throat. I also noticed my throat being sore at the end of the day. The other problem is that i feel like food is sticking in my upper esophagus but when I drink water, there is nothing. Also, sometimes, when I swallow, my throat tickles and it makes my caugh. But i can abstain myself from coughing. Now I'm scared these are signs of ALS or something like that.

Can you please tell me if phlegm in throat is a sign of bulbar? Im freaking out, cant study, cant do anything. After eating I feel like i have phlegm in my throat. I can eat and drink just fine. Is this a sign of throat muscle weakness too?

I also had whidespread twitches, but as soon as my neurologist saod i am fine,it stopped.. i do get some twitches occasionally, like before my exam or something similar. But this itch in my throat is making me so anxious. Is it a symptom of throat muscle weakness or maybe food aspiration?

I am also a medical student. I suffered extensive muscle twitches from head to toe which I instantly focused on and thought that I had the worst possible diagnosis ever, ALS. I was so convinced, I had numerous appointments with my GP, MRI and CT scans and all were negative. The diagnosis was Benign Fasiculation Syndrome (apparently more common in medical students), which I experience daily but I know it's totally benign. There is a huge element of anxiety and stress that partakes in these symptoms because once you've got ALS in your mind, it instantly causes anxiety and of course anxiety symptoms. There are a multitude of other diagnoses this could be. But please take my advice, do not focus and worry until you've heard from the horses mouth. Have you considered anxiety or globus hystericus??
