Do you think I might have ALS?

A few weeks ago my left middle finger started twitching. Within a few days the twitching was all over and I ended up researching it on google, inevitably finding several forum posts about ALS. I was obviously worried and as I continued researching ALS, I found myself reasonably convinced I just had BFS. As I stopped worrying about it, it seemed to fade in to the background... in fact, I can't recall whether or not I've had the twitches the last 2 weeks. About 2 days ago I started noticing the twitching again, not in any one place in particular, and noticed a cramp in my left forearm shortly thereafter. I've been bothered by it the last few days, and the twitching and cramping is getting worse. I've been doing constant strength tests and comparisons between arms. My left arm is a little smaller, but doesn't seem to be noticeably weaker. I'm right-handed and play tennis, racquetball, and basketball quite frequently so I figure the right fore arm should be a little larger. I've read that forearm cramps can be suggestive of motor neuron disease so I've been pretty worried. The feeling of "cramping" in the left forearm is odd, it feels like it's weak but it doesn't seem to actually be weak. I'm hoping that these symptoms have been caused by my worrying, but it's hard not to think about it. Does it sound like it could be ALS?

It seems to me that you have bfs, cramping is also a common symptom of bfs. If you are experiencing your cramps after exercise, i suggest stretching more, if they occur in the night i suggest you drink more water and stretch, if they occur randomly i suggest you go to a doctor because this may be bfs. Here is a website about bfs, and some frequently asked questions http://www.nextination.com/aboutbfs/faqgeneral.htm
