I will try and make this as short as possible. Im a 33 yr. old male who has been having problems for a month now. It started with muscles in my neck and back getting extremely tight along with with weakness in my shoulders like a weight was weighing me down. I was also feeling very fatigued like i could fall asleep at any time. I went to my dr and had tons of bloodwork done that came back normal. Then I started to feel a lilttle better after a couple of days and then it hit me hard again with all the symptoms i mentioned before but my legs started feeling real weak and fatigued. I also started getting little twitching all over my body but especially in my legs and calves. Then over the last week or so Ive been waking up and my right hand is numb but it only happens when I wake up in the morning. I have also noticed that all my joints have been popping and cracking when i move around and they never have done this before. I have also lost around 12 to 15 lbs in the last month cause im never hungry but this could because im so stressed out I have something really wrong with me. My right hand has felt a lot weaker than normal like my joints are real stiff. My feet have sharp pains in the arch and my back hurts all the time. I was just wondering if anyone had any good advice for me I would greatly appreciate it cause all Im doing now is suffering and its affecting me and my family. Thank you for any advice.
I also forgot to mention that no matter how much sleep I get I feel like a truck has ran over me when I get up for about an hour or so like my body is just mush all over. The weakness in my right hand comes along with pain in forearm and shoulder.
Sorry I keep posting but Im just worried to death but i also forgot to mention that whenever I do physical activity like push ups or go running I get muscle spams in whatever muscles I was exerting like my legs shoulders and arms but only for a couple minutes after Im done.
(hope this helps) i think that if it were ALS, you wouldnt be able to do push ups, or go running.. have you had any blood work done?? creatinine, b12, folic, vit D? thyroid function> endocrine system? i know its hard to not worry about the worst possible thing, i do it too, but there are so so many things, fixable things, that it could be rather than ALS. are your symptoms constant or waivering? i look into it more, but i really think you would be worse off by now. PS- you could never post too much, after all, you're looking for answers :)
Thanks for the comments. Ive had a lot of blood work done but Im not sure if they tested for everything you mentioned but so far its all been normal. My symptoms do come and go especially the fatigue and weakness but there is always one or two present and all times. My neck muscles seem like there stiff all the time though. Ive just been real worried the last month with everything thats been going on with my body. Thanks for the input it is greatly appreciated.
your symptoms sound a lot like mine, other than mine are constant. my neck is always stiff, hard to turn, spasms..my arms and legs shake when i lift them, constant tremors in my arms and hands. maybe the neuro consult will offer more answers for you, i hope.
I was wondering if you have been to a neuro and what did they say. My neck is stiff alot of the time but it does ease up sometimes thru out the day. I did have a new symptom this morning when I woke up my left cheek was numb and tingling so I moved my mouth around and it went away. I was also wondering if you have any weakness cause I have alot of weakness that comes and goes in my legs and shoulders. But I really dont know if its weakness or fatigue I just feel like my muscles are exhausted sometimes especially after doing physical activities. Well thanks for listening I hope everything gets better for you and let ya know your not alone. Thanks.
hi there :) im sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. i hope you're feeling better :)
my neuro appointment went like this- its not parkinsons, or ms. i think you have wilsons disease, well, i dont. so now he says i have cervical dystonia with tremors.. not buying it. im honestly starting to think that this, and you, my have or be Lymes disease. its so crazy, but im really starting to convince myself..maybe its just wishful thinking. tell me more about your symptoms..did you have a viral inection before it all started (i did) like the flu, mono? take any medications? you can call me if you would like, or i can call you if it would be easier :) i will PM you my number, im up pretty late, so call anytime.
Sorry been busy the last couple of days. Had to get my son ready for school for the first time he is three and starting pre-school. Pretty much everything is the same except it seems like im getting weaker and i still am losing weight but prolly cause i dont eat cause Im so depressed all the time. I didnt have any viral infection prior to my symptoms and the only medicine i take is ibuprofen but thats it.What is cervical dystonia? Hopefully its nothing serious.
