Sexually inappropriate fathers

Has any woman here had to deal with their fathers being sexually "over the line" with them? Leering, making sexual innuendos, emailing sexually inappropriate jokes, in general making them feel very nervous and ill at ease?

I am in my early 40's and he has been out of my life for many years, but even later on as an adult he is still very weird?.Does this happen in adult daughters with fathers that have been out of their lives? I never ask people about this because I am extremely embarrassed.

No, it isn't because your father has been out of your life.  My dad hasn't been much more than an uncle to us since he and my mom divorced, frankly, but he has never been anything less than sweet when we do see him.  You're probably just coping with a man who has always been like this -- i.e., creepy.  Keep him out of your life, he sounds like a good person to avoid.

It's not normal in any situation.  A father should not view his daughter that way.  I'd be leery of him.  The only father I know who is like that is my mom's dad, and he molested her and my sister.

Has no one ever told him particularly your mom how inppropiate his behavior is, has he been allowed by everyone to behave like this ? Time someone ticked him off.

Thankyou for answering, I really have been creeped out, and I wondered if it happens to others but nobody ever mentions it, due to embarrassment. Yes, he has issues, and I have almost cut all ties. Thanks again.
