13 year old with blackheads

My son is a football player and has blackheads on his nose and chin.I don't want to put him on any storng meds and we don't have health ins. He washes his face twice a day with a OTC soap but its not warking.What can he use that will help?

Don't ignore this problem as blackheads can be stubborn and lead to acne. I guess you're in the states and i'm in britain so brand names may not be the same but i'll try to help!  Washing with soap alone will not remove blackheads, a facial scrub would be better. If he gets acne I recommend Freederm cleanser and treatment lotion available from pharmacies. If you can get medical insurance ask for a topical lotion like dalacin or differin. Don't be afraid of antibiotics such as tretracycline, many people have used them with no problems.
