A gap in Minocin use

by ADAMRIZQ, Nov 03, 2009 04:24PM
Hi, I am currently a 19 year old who suffered from mild acne only on my face. After visiting my doctor, she prescribed Benzaclin. A few months later, my acne had decreased a little, but that was it. My doctor then put me on Minocyclin. Two a day for the first 4 weeks, then an increase to 4 a day after that.

For certain reasons, I stopped taking the Minocyclcin (but not the Benzaclin) for the last month, and I appear to be breaking out even more than before, and not just on my face; I am starting to break out on my neck and even on my back (I have never had any form of acne on my neck or back before).

My question is: Could this newer acne be a result of me stopping the Minocycline, and if so, should I start taking it again at the same dosage that I left off at?

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Adam

talk to your doctor about accutane. It works for more then 80% who try it the first course.
The 20 percent usually need more then 1 course(2-3).

I do not like the use of drugs to treat acne. They are very expensive and rarely work well. I use Zero Zitz Emergency Power, Queen Helene`s Mint Julep Mask, and the NG Acne Treatment System. I have been acne-free for two years now. If I ever do get a blemish I use the NG Acne Spot Corrector and the blemish disappears within a few days. Deva Borage Oil is also very good in helping to prevent acne from the inside out. Also, even though it is meant for children, Pure Kidz Multi-Vitamin Spray is an excellent way to get a wide-range of vitamins in a very easy to metabolize formula. I prefer it to multi-vitamin and mineral tablets. Vitamins are also important in keeping you acne free. You can't find it at the stores, but I buy it online from www.pure-kidz.com
