A good face wash to use with Isotrexin reonoid gel?

Hi,

I am currently two months in to using a topical retonoid gel called isotrexin (isotretinoin 2% combined with erythromycin 0.05%) and I have a question about what facewash I should use.

Someone recommended Neutrogina visibly clear 2-in-1 face wash but I am concerned that it might be too harsh for my skin as it contains Salicylic Acid, which can make the skin feel quite dry and tight. Would a salicylic wash work well with the isotrexin or might it be too much for my skin? I'm currently using 'freederm facial cleanser' which is an antibacterial cleanser.

Do you think it would be better to use a gentler face wash that doesn't have any spot fighting ingredients in it? If so does anyone have any recommendations for a good one?

You're right, a cleanser which contains salicyclic acid is too harsh to be used concurrently with your topical medication. I would use a bland cleanser (and moisturizer if necessary) such as Cetaphil or La Roche-Posay.
