A:---i was self treating at 40mg/ 3x week with gr8 success zero sides (thinning hair possibly), willing to even try 20mg/ 3x wk and cycle it even on for 4months, off for 2 or 3 (until i break out)...give the body a break
B:--- would say a 200mg/day dose for 6 months or so work, ive read it may give a remission length of 5-6yrs .....but who really knows...just a gamble.... i would rather option A..
Hi Cory, I've relapsed from Roaccutane (as it's called in england) twice and i'm 31. My derm said oxytetracycline too saying that roaccutane changes your skin so that things that didn't work before may now work. My skin was great whilst on roaccutane, but oil back within 4 weeks, acne back within 8 weeks. So for me it's a treatment, but not the cure i was hoping for. In the states i think some derms do prescribe 'maintenance doses' of 20mg a day but they don't do that here. You won't get a doctor to agree with you as officially they think that 150 X your body weight should be the maximum dose. In the newspapers here it says they're testing a new "holy grail" cream, as good as accutane without the side effects, lets hope so! Love loiloi xx
