Yes generic versions of Accutane (oral Isotretinoin) are still available. Roche stopped making Accutane in June 2009 but still makes Roaccutane in Europe. I believe this was because they were no longer making a large profit with so many generic versions available.
In most countries a GP cannot prescribe Isotretinoin, you have to see a dermatologist. It should not be difficult to obtain if you have severe cystic acne which is causing physical or psychological scarring. Accutane is usually prescribed when standard treatments (oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, birth control) have resulted in failure or relapse.
