Accutane and liver

I have been taking accutane for a month (80mg/day).  My doctor is taking me off the medicine for two weeks because my labs were somewhat elevated.  I am supposed to be retested in two weeks and they will re-evaluate.  I have responded very well to the treatment. Dry skin/lips were my only side-effects.  My life and self-esteem seemed to be normal.  For once in my life, how bad my face looked was not the first thing I thought of when I woke.  Now this - I cant seem to catch a break.  I took accutate 6 years ago and had no problems.  I havent had a drop of alcohol.  I don't understand.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Will I be relegated to the creams and antibiotics that have never worked?  The thought of not being able to take accutane makes me depressed.

My cholesterol was slightly raised during treatment but not sufficiently for my treatment to be discontinued or continued at a lower dose.
Stay positive, your doctor's plan is to re-evaluate which doesn't necessarily mean bad news. For your doctor to agree to continue treating you, the risks of doing so have to be outweighed by the expected benefits.
