Accutane for Scars

I have had acne for several years, resulting in scarring. I am about to start Accutane, and, since it is a retinoid, will it help scars? If not, what could I do on Accutane to fade them?

How are you? Accutane is a form of vitamin A and it reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands in the skin as well as help the skin renew itself more quickly. This is usually given after other acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried with no improvement of symptoms. Results may vary from person to person and it is recommended that you take it as prescribed by your doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
