Accutane?!

by daydreamer101, May 04, 2009 11:02PM
Hi, I've been on accutane, and I'm just fed up with all the medications I've used!!! I just want to be happy with who I am, you know? Can I just END accutane?! I don't want to take it anymore!!!!!!! It's driving me crazy. I don't care how bad my acne is, I just want to enjoy life and have my acne run it's course, you know?

But my parents told me "IF you ever get married, we don't want you walking down the aisle with scars on your face ..."

um ... ouch? That kind of sent my self esteem to rock-bottom.
So, should I finish my accutane session (I have 2 more months), or end it now?
Help!

It all depends on if you really want to get rid of your acne or not? If being comfortable with your self means you don't mind seeing the acne or the comments then by all means just stop. Otherwise keep with the Accutane it really works, however if you're not consistent with anything and half @ss it then nothing will work.

Stick with it. Accutane has the highest success rate of any acne medication with over 80% of patients experiencing a long term remission after one course. You've come this far, don't give up now.

Why would you stop? Acne doesnt just "run its course" You will continue to have acne. For example: My brother was on accutane at 17 years old...his face stayed clear untill around 21 years old. His acne came back and he didnt want to get back on accutane so he let it go, thinking it would just stop eventually. My brother is 28 not and his acne is as bad as it ever was! If you want your confidence and life back, stay with it! Accutane is worth it! It definatley is for me and honestly Im getting married next year and honestly your mom is right...dont let acne run your life!
Good luck
