Methotrexate can cause or worsen acne in some patients.
Isotretinoin is the most effective acne treatment available. It results in a long term remission from acne in over 80% of patients after just one course which usually lasts 16-24 weeks. It can cause unpleasant side effects but this must be balanced against the fact it is the "gold standard" treatment for acne and remission is usually complete and long-lasting.

Hi thanks for your reply, have you had personal experience with this drug and if so did you suffer any of the side effects, after looking at your profile I'm guessing you don't have any problems with acne, I'm just trying to get a picture of any side effects I can expect to get and know what ones I probably wont, Right now I am on 3rd day of taking 30mb a day, I do noticed my lips have dried up a bit but nothing bad and my eyes to seem to be a little nippy a couple of hours after taking it but it then goes.
Would I be also right in thinking if I was to stop taking Methotrexate then my immune system would kick back in and fight the Acne, my derm when I asked her said Methtrexate does not cause acne but everything I have seen on the net and people have spoke to say otherwise so dont know what to believe.
