I used to have breakouts of acne everywhere on my faceFace pain, but largely on my noseNose fracture. A pimple would form on my noseNose fracture, then another would reform on that location, etc. I used to squeeze them very hard (I thought this would help) and get all the pus and blood out, this would leave pigmentationsHyperpigmentation 2 Hyperpigmentation w/malignancy Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - calf Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation 2 Skin - abnormally dark or light. However, I believe because of the frequency that the pimples formed on the same spots, and the fact that I squeezed them too hard, the skin thickened and formed relatively small, slightly elevated scars of irregular shapes, which actually cover the lines of my nose and make it look bulbous. These scars are now the same tone as the rest of my skin, and they feel like bumps. I believe, but am not sure, that these are keloid scars.
These scars have been with me for about 5 years now. I am looking for a way to remove them. I have heard that laser only works on scars with pigmentation (however, there is a new, experimental CO2 laser), and microdermabrasion seems to do little. I am mainly looking into dermabration. Please give me some insight, it seems that I never see people with my problem, everyone usually has depressed scars and ice picks..
I have just read a bit more on CO2 laser, and I have found a clinic nearby that performs the operation, however, they do not list "nose" in their prices. I am wondering if anyone is familiar with CO2 lasers and know if it can be applied to the nose.
Never pick or squeeze spots, as you've found out that can spread the bacteria and cause scarring. The good news is that your type of scars should be easier to remove than ice pick scars. I'm familar with N-Lite laser tharapy, and the nurse aims the device at the specific affected area. Reputable skin clinics should give you a free consultation to discuss your needs x
