Acne and scars in teenager

by Just concerned, Feb 28, 2007 12:00AM
My teenager has acne and scars from it and would like to know from others what a good acne treatment is.  We have tried a few different brands including medication from a dermatologist but not one of the things seemed to do the trick.  She is 14.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

first get on a good skincare regimen. Wash face with a water soluble cleanser  am and pm. Then use a beta hydroxy lotion at night. On the acne itself you can use benzoil peroxide to disinfect the breakout.I prefer a 10 % solution my self.
Give the betahydroxy lotion 4 to 6 weeks to work.
Drink lots of water as well.at least 64 ounces a day.
For scars there is hydroquinie to fade them but you might want to consider laser resurfacing after the acne is under control.

good luck
