Acne on the face

I have tried a lot of products on my face but none of them seem to work. I have never had acne in my entire life and now in my late twenties, I woke up one day with my face full of big and hard pimples. When I wash my face hard, they pop off and blood comes out. They also hurt. What is happening to me? What can I do about it?

You don't say specifically which products you have tried, but the standard treatments for acne are:
i) A topical antibiotic such as Clindamycin
ii) A topical retinoid like tretinoin or adapalene
iii) A course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline 250mg twice a day
iv) An anti-androgen contraceptive pill called Yasmin
v) A non-hormonal anti-androgen called Spironolactone
v) An oral retinoid called Isotretinoin -only prescribed when other treatments result in failure or relapse.

Acne can occur at any age but is especially common during times of hormonal change. Could you be pregnant? Have you recently changed your method of birth control? Avoid the progesterone-only pill, depo shot and hormonal IUD as these make acne worse.
