Acne scars

i am aged 34 and had been advised doxycycline 100mg for 21 days for severe acne.
once the treatment was over in another fortnight i started getting them again. so i have now restarted the course of doxycycline. would like to know if there is any medication for acne scars.. as although acne has been treated the scars still remain. request a solution.

Don't take antibiotics to cure your acne.

1. You are making your immune system lazy.  They begin to think we don't need to fight these bacterias, the antibiotics will do that for us.  And they aren't learning how to fight the bacteria... you know our immune systems need to learn too!

2. You are killing your internal micro flora and all the beneficial bacteria in your intestine.

3.  Your liver and kidneys just have to do the job of excreting yet another toxin.

You need to fight your acne from within...

Do you have any of the following food items in your diet??

Coffee
Dairy
Alcohol
Pop
Refined Carbohydrates

Those are the worst ones.  Are you a smoker?  That's another biggy.
Let me know what kinds of foods you are eating in your diet.

Hi
thanks for your response.
I do have coffee once a day, yoghurt once a day and alcohol twice a week.
Am not a smoker.
Other wise I am a strict vegetarian who doenst even have eggs.
Do I have a solution for the acne scars. As advised I will stop doxycycline once the left over 3 tabs are over. However, the scars are looking bad.
Thanks again.
Regards

Hi. Ask your doctor about Retin-a, a topical retinoid gel which will heal both active acne and post-acne scars. Use a bland soap-free cleanser with this gel, to minimise irritation.
There is a lack of medical evidence that diet effects acne. Acne is caused by raised levels of androgens (male hormones). Androgens stimulate the oil glands in the skin. Bacteria on the skin feeds off this excess oil, blocking the pores and resulting in inflammed spots. Doxycycline will kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin and can be used in conjunction with Retin-a.
Best Wishes, Eloise.

Okay...

How about your sleeping habits?  Are you resting well... getting a good 8 hours of sleep a night, and at a consistent time? A good consistent sleeping pattern works to balance hormones really well.  And also greatly reduces stress.

How about exercise?  Exercise also helps rid the body of toxins faster and reduces stress.

You say alcohol twice a week... does that mean you are drinking just 2 drinks of alcohol a week... or is it a multi drink binge twice a week?
