Adult acne, always coming back

by Teffy, Mar 27, 2007 12:00AM
I'm 24 years old and my Dr. has had me on Bactrim for years now. It keeps my face pretty clear,I still get a few break out while on it. Every time I stop taking it, within a few weeks my face is totally broken out again. I feel that my body is used to the bactrum now so I have to keep taking it or else I will always break out again. This has been going on for years. I asked my doctor to let me try the accutane. I know it has harsh side effects but the misery of dealing with this acne for so long makes me want to take the risk. I know people that have taken the accutane and then never broke out again afterwards. I get off the bactrim clear, and then I break out worse than ever. Why does this happen?

What kind of skin care are you doing? You need a good water soluble cleanser like cetaphil and a good beta hydroxy lotion to exfoliate.Moisterize only where you are dry.And be very gentle with your skin.I am 50 and I stll get a breakout but not like I did before I stared this skin care routine.2 x a day  am and pm
Oh and dont forget a good sunscreen.
