My question is: would it be a major mistake to even try taking the Doxycycline in the first place? If I'm allergic to one drug in the tetracycline family, am I allergic to all of them? I should probably get a professional's opinion on this, but for the moment, this is close as I can come to that. Please share any experiences or advice! thanks
i had a severe reaction to penicillin and i have very severe food and environmental allergies. i was told that i shouldn't try any other drugs in the family of penicillin to be safe. if i were you, i'd ask to be switched to an out-of-family medicine
i wouldnt take it, my mom is allergic and she found out by taking one pill,of doxy, she is also alergic (allergic) to pennicilin and tetracycline, she took one pill and two days later had third and fourth degree burns and bruises all over her entire body. that was a very sever case, it has been over a year and she still has the bruise looking spots and she is scared all over her body for life , she could have died.
