Almost 21 and it randomly started getting worse

by MarkBerry, Dec 07, 2008 11:56AM
Hi, so I have had acne for about eight years, never more than moderate except for several bad cystic acne cysts about three years ago which were pus filled and left ice-pick scars. However, the last few years my acne has been much better; normally several pimples but no cysts. Anyway, the last couple weeks I have been having several large under-the-skin pimples at a time, not pus filled but still red, swollen and painful, especially on my chin. I am and have been on two topical meds (Klaron and Retinae), as well as Doxycycline, for the past four years or so. Should I be changing meds? My dad (an internist) says I should stay on what I'm on. Help? Thanks
