Back Acne

My husband has severe acne on his back, shoulders, and neck.
It has left him terribly scarred and it doesn't seem to be going away even though he is in his early 30's. He is very embarrassed by it, and I can't even get him to come to the beach anymore :(
Does anyone know of anything that can help him? I feel so helpless and I know it bothers him.

I recommend Clinique's Blemish Solutions Chest & Back spray. A spray is much more economical than a gel, for large areas like the back.
He should speak to his doctor about taking a course of the oral antibiotic Oxytetracyline which is very effective at clearing this type of acne.
Moderate exposure to UV light at the beach will probably benefit his skin.
