Hi. It is not unusual to experience a temporary worsening of acne when starting a new regime of treatment (as unseen pimples come to the surface).
It is possible to see some clinical improvement within 4-8 weeks, but I would not give up unless you have seen no improvement after 3-4 months. It is generally better to persevere with one antibiotic than to switch to another before one has had time to work. Acne responds slowly to oral antibiotics and you make see quicker results if you use a topical retinoid (like Differin) at the same time.
