Chemical imbalance cause Acne..Help

Does anyone know if a chemical imbalance can cause a hormonal imbalance? Ever since last year when I got really deopressed and the drs started messing around with my meds Ive been breaking out badly on my chin( which means its hormones ive read)..anyway ive tried every over the counter thing to get rid of thm but nothing works....I thought this might be the reason, I had good skin before thie mess with an occasional break out......any info on getting rid of them also is appreciative, i have no insurance right now to go to the dr....thanks everyone... Im already  depressed and this acen is making me feel soo ugly  and worse...

Hi. Acne is caused by a sensitivity to the effects of androgens (male hormones found in both male and female bodies). Androgens stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands which leads to spots. Frustratingly, for doctor and patient alike, we can't usually find a cause for acne, some people are just more sensitive to the effects of androgens than others.
Until you get medical insurance, the best over the counter remedy I know of is Freederm which contains nicotinamide to reduce inflammed acne.
When you get insurance ask your doctor for a synthetic topical retinoid called Differin which is very effective.
Avoid the Depot shot, mini (everyday) pill and the hormonal IUD all of which can make acne worse. Talk to your doctor about taking a combined oral contraceptive pill such as Yasmin or Ortho Tri-Cyclen which will clear hormonal acne.

Thank you soo much.. Im going to try thr Freederm....I am on a pill like otho that is very low in estrogen, so ive always had pretty lear skin till now...But im def. going to try what you say and go to the derm when i can i guess....Is the derm expensive do you know? Maybe if it isnt I can just pay to go? this stupid acne is making me fee horrbile, and my makup doesnt even cover it...thanks again

You may not have to see a dermatologist, a regular doctor can prescribe all but the strongest acne treatments.
There are some good full coverage foundations which don't give a mask like finish.
I use Estee Lauder's Maximum Coverage foundation and stay in place concealor. I also use their Sparkling Clean cleanser and toner for oily skin and advanced oil free hydrator. See my pictures in my profile.
