Chemical peel for dark skin.

I am an african american and I have dark scars on my face from acne. I am loking into gettin a rejuvi milk peel in order to clear my face. Does anyone know whether it is effective? I heard that it doesn't do much for darker skin, but I also heard that it does because it removes layers of dead skin so it works for all skin colors. Can someone please help me?
