Corticosteroid Injection Pitting

I received a corticosteroid injection for one of my active acne cysts. When the dermatologist gave the injection, it felt like she injected too much as it squirted out. The cyst immediately went down and after a day or two, my skin started indenting. I waited several weeks to see if it would repair itself and it did not. Over this past weekend, the area started pitting. I now have 2 pitted scars that seem to be getting worse. Why is this happening and what action can I take to repair and stop this scarring?
