Cystic Acne

by Curiousitykilledthecat1225, Jul 19, 2009 01:15AM
For the last few years, I've had pretty clear skin. Of recent, I'm getting some bad cystic acne in the chin and cheek and on occasion my neck (maybe from extra stress or from my sunblock). Aside from washing with salicylic wash made by Neutrogena (which of lately seems to do nothing), is there an oral medicine I could take (not  Accutane) that will help at least temporarily. An Antibiotic that someone can suggest?

In addition, I'd consider a birth control brand. Never been on them and am in my 30s so I'm open to it just to reduce or eliminate this issue.

Any suggestions? I plan to visit with a dermatologist within the next several weeks but like to get the opinion of others on the forum that may have experienced a bout of cystic acne well after their teens and twenties.
