Cystic adult acne

I have always suffered from acne since I was a teenager. Luckily for the past few years I have been able to manage it without prescribed medication besides birth control. For the past few months my proactive and yaz birth control are not cutting it. I have had the same cysstic zit in the same area for over 3 weeks now and a few other on my cheek and chin. I have used benzoid peroxide 10% and it only appears to make it worst. The funny part is I am only breaking out repeatedly on the left side of my face. Help! I dont want to have to end up on prescribed acne treatment again, it was painful and did not resolve my acne much.

Which prescription treatments have you tried and what painful side effects did you have?
Diane35 (also called Dianette) may be a more effective choice of pill than Yaz. Oral oxytetracycline is also helpful but use a condom if you take the pill and antibiotics together. The most effective topical prescription gel is Differin.
