Davonex

I was given a cream called Davonex for Psoriasis...which seems to have worked wonders.

My worry is that it lists "Skin atrophy" as one of the possible side effects. Anyone know if I should be worried about my face shriveling and falling off?!?!

Hi, i'm in the UK and not familar with Davonex which i assume is a brand name, if you tell me the chemical name i may be able to help further. I'm glad the cream is working well. Don't panic about possible side effects if you are not experiencing them. Your doctor obviously thinks the expected benefits of you using this cream outweigh the potential side effects. Drug companies are obliged to list all potential side effects, even if rare, to cover themselves. Do not use more cream than you have been instructed to. I'm sure your doctor will review use of this cream if it is contra-indicated for long term use on the face. I hope this reassures you but if you are still concerned please do get back to me with the name of the active ingredient and i will check for cases of emaciation or wasting of tissues. Loiloi x

The chemical is calcipotriene cream (0.005). My worry is it says do NOT use on face...which is where I have to use it. I did ask the pharmacist who said I shouldn't worry.
It has worked well. i've been without any rash for almost a week now. I hope it doesn't come back...but I won't be surprised if it does.

It is not indicated for use on the face, unless prescribed by a doctor. So don't panic and enjoy your clear skin. Loiloi x
