Deep ACNE Scars

I have acne since I was 15 years old.My skin type is oily and a have a lot of pimples.Although the occurrence has reduced a lot I have a lot of black scars left that look terrible,especially on the nose.I cant help myself from the itch and this results in removal of the dry/dead skin in that area.A bit of blood comes out and clots and this results to appearance of the mark again.I would like to take a treatment for acne to remove all my scars or atleast reduce the visibility.Please suggest.

Hi. Resist the temptation to squeeze pimples or pick off the dead skin. This seldom improves the appearance and will spread bacteria under the skin leading to more pimples. It can also lead to delayed healing time, secondary infection and scarring.
See your doctor for a prescription-strength treatment gel such as Duac (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) or Differin (adapalene). You may also warrant a course of oral antibiotics such as Erythromycin or Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily.
Female acne patients can be treated with a special birth control pill called Diane35 (Dianette in the UK) which blocks the actions of androgens - the hormones responsible for acne.
