Dry Skin

Ever since I changed my birth control pill from Yaz to Necon 1/35, I have experienced more dry skin spots on my face and a slight increase of acne. My skin is usually generally clear, but recently my skin has become dry in spots so it causes me to moisturize it with lotion. The lotion will usually cause me to get clogged pores and some acute acne may pop up. If I use moisturizers that have acne medicine in them, my skin will usually end up getting dry again even though the acne may clear up. I was wondering if anyone knew a good moisturizer that won't clog pores, but will successfully eliminate dry skin on the face. Or may it be a good idea to change birth control pills again?

Acne is caused when androgens (male hormones such as testosterone) stimulate the sebaceous glands in the skin. Certain birth control pills are based on testosterone and can make acne worse. Yaz and Yasmin contain oestrogen and an anti-androgen, both of which block the action of testosterone on the skin. Necon 1/35 is also recommended for acne patients, so it is unusual that your's has got slightly worse. Yaz obviously suited you better, was there a particular reason for changing to Necon?
