Extreme blushing while Accutane (80mg dose)

by Andrej771, Mar 23, 2009 07:59PM
I've been on Accutane for almost 5 months now and the problem just arised a month, maybe two ago.  My face began getting really red for the smallest reasons; speaking in front of the class, little embarssing moments etc.  I spoke with my dermatologist and he said that its a side effect of the accutane and that it should go away after I'm done.  However, this has become a huge problem and after reading about people still blushing/flushing after their treatment, I became worried.  I am on a 80mg dose, and am wondering if the blushing will go away or stop if I stop the medication or lower the dose to 40 mg.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Resolve this problem by using a good anti-redness skincare range. I like Rosaliac by La Roche-Posay, Eucerin Redness Relief and Clinique Redness Solutions.
Accutane works by shrinking the sebaceous glands which produce oil. Most side effects disappear within 5 weeks of stopping the drug. You can expect fragilised skin for up to 6 months after finishing Accutane. This must be balanced against the fact that Accutane is your best hope of a long term remission from acne. You won't stay red, see my pictures in my profile :)
Eloise.
