Forehead Acne

by jstine100, Dec 10, 2007 01:57AM
I am 22 years old and I am trying to figure out my acne.  My acne is only located on my forehead, and I usually don't have more than 5 or 6 ranging in size.  Just when I think I have figured out a method to prevent my acne and it clears up, a couple more pop up.  My diet is not bad, I drink lots of water, and I take vitamins.  When I use facial cleansers, my forehead usually becomes to dry.  If I use lotions or moisturizers for my skin, my breakouts are usually worse.  It takes along time for my acne to heal when it does appear also.  Anybody out there with a similar problem that might be able to offer any solution.

The forehead is a common place to get acne as it's part of the t-zone. First try over the counter remedies such as Freederm. If this doesn't help see your doctor for prescription lotions such as Duac, Differin or Dalacin and/or a course of oral antibiotics such as oxytetracycline or erythromycin. Loiloi x

If you keep getting more acne, I would suggest to you to get an Antibacterial Wash with Triclocarbon or Triclosan.  Cetaphil or Noxeema carries an Antibacterial wash.  I have been breaking out on my forehead, and I've tried benzolye peroxide, salicylic acid, and they don't work.  These are only good to prevent acne, but not for killing the germs.

You might have a bacteria on your forehead so by using an antibacterial wash. You will kill any bacteria that is left over from the ones that are already healing.  If you are having a breakout, I would not use more oily products such as moisturizers b/c bacteria likes to feed on oil.  I would wait until you are acne free.  I thought moisturizing would be good on my forehead b/c it was getting dried up from all the products, but really, it made me break out more.

Hope this helps!
