Growing out of acne?

Is it possible to completely grow out of acne? Im 17 years old and i've had mild acne since about the age of 14. I was wondering if it is actually possible to grow out of it, i just finished about a 5 month course of minocin 100mg which seemed to clear my acne leaving only 2-3 small pimples that are beginning to go away now. I dont want to keep using proactive and other skin products for my face for the rest of my life...is it possible? and if so what can help this process, i know that acne isn't curable but many grow out of it. Please help!

Hi. Yes, the majority of people outgrow their acne after adolescence. However, a repeat course of antibiotics may be needed if your acne returns. If you are prone to greasy skin you may have to use specialised skin products until you are no longer prone to it, but you don't have to use expensive ones like Proactive. Freederm is a good over the counter product to keep spots at bay and is relatively inexpensive. Most skin care brands make ranges for oily skin including Estee Lauder and Clinique. Loiloi xx
