Now i would like help and information on how i can get on accutane (is there a rountine,do i have to go bk to yrs of other drugs before i can get it again)again at my last hospital appointment the derm said ive been discharged bk to the care of my gp (this was all doen via NHS in uk)........how can i get on to anouther course etc........when my gp wasnt even helpful the first time round (i dont want to be sent away with more creams etc, when this is the only drug that has given me clearance up to now) im feeling very low and would like information and info on other options in the uk....thankyou
You can get a second course of Roaccutane on the NHS if you warrant it. Phone the dermatology department and see if they can offer you an appointment without going back through the GP. If they can't, you will have to ask your GP to refer you again. In the meantime continue with the Differin and ask your GP for Dianette and/or antibiotics. Standard treatments often work better after Roaccutane than they did before.
I take photos of my skin on particularly bad days to show the Dermatologist. Its typical that by the time my appointment comes around my skin is not too bad!
Eloise.
I just want to let you know that even if a Dr.--any Dr. that you see, you do have the right to ask for what you think that you need, you have the right to learn and educate yourself on your own and then take that info. to your doc and ask questions. You also have the right to change Dr. if you are not happy with the care that you are getting. Don't wait 5 or 6 years and then decide you are tired of it.
I hope that this was no offense to anyone- I learned these things the hard way, if there is a serious problem then any time is a waste of time.
