Havs a birthcontrol changed your acne?

Havs a birthcontrol changed your acne?

I was on a pill I loved for about 15 years LoEstrin.  Well I took a some time of the pill but now I am not ready to get back on a pill.  I knoe that meny new pills have came on the marked since 1996.  I know that some have claimed to help a bit with acne.  I think my acne was a bit better when I was on the loEstrin but It is had to tell because I was on it so long.

What is your experiance with any of the new pills? did any make a noticable change in acne?  Did you get any other noticable side affects form the pill?  Change in menstral cycle or weight?

Please give me you oppnion.

Hi. In the UK, Dianette (called Diane35 abroad) is the only pill licenced for acne-control as well as contraception. It contains 35 micrograms of oestrogen (compared with 30 micrograms in most standard combined pills such as Femodene). It also contains 2 milligrams of the anti-androgen Cyproterone acetate.
Cilest (called Ortho Tri-Cyclen abroad) also contains 35 micrograms of oestrogen. Oestrogen blocks the effects of androgens (male hormones) on the skin.
Yasmin may also help with acne but, in my doctor's words "The Jury is still out" and in the UK the makers of Yasmin had to withdraw this claim from their advertising.
If you are unable to take the pill (overweight/ high blood pressure/ over 35 years of age) there are lots of other helpful acne treatments including oral antibiotics and topical retinoids.
Eloise.

No BC I've ever tried (and I've tried at least 5 different ones) has ever helped my acne.  If anything it made it worse.  Which is funny because my acne is brought on my hormones (mainly there being too much testosterone in my body).
