Hello everyone!

hello, i am 27 yrs old and i have endometriosis, and other chronic probs. my question is : is there any herbal or over the counter products that can help with acne?. i have had acne for about 4 yrs since the endo. i know its my hormones. i also can see that i am getting facial hair as well.! it makes me very sad cause , i cant be myself when i go in public, i know everyone stares and thinks im a crack head or something, but its becuz of the endo.!! does any one have any suggestions?  it is really bad on the sides of my face . i have tryed face creams, cleansers, but i have very sensitive skin and  my face always breaks out bad when trying somthing new. also my dr put me on doxycycline to help , but it hurts my stomach to bad.do u know if i could open the capsule and mix it with alil water and put it on my face? would that work??  im am all out of ideas. thanks for your help in advance! take care , Michele

Do not use oral antibiotics on your face, but you could use a topical antibiotic from your doctor such as Dalacin-T, get the lotion not the solution if you have sensitive skin. Estee Lauder make a good range for oily skin which also doesn't irritate. Freederm is the best over the counter product in my opinion, do not use Dr Murad products if you have sensitive skin they gave me a rash! I wouldn't use any herbal medicines if you are on medication for your health problems as they can interfer with them. Love loiloi xx

You have described PCOS perfectly. The best thing to get on is a $10 monthly medication prescribed by your derm called SPIRONOLACTONE. Not only will this help your acne, but it will also help you rid of your unwanted hair. SPIRONOLACTONE is an androgen inhibitor, which is the primary cause of PCOS. It also wouldn't hurt you to be on a birthcontrol such as Yasmin or Ovcon 35. Hasn't anyone told you about this?! Make you appt. asap. No, there are no herbal concoctions - just green tea to help you live longer.

Heyang is right you should be taking either Yasmin or Dianette (Called Diane35 in the States, i'm in England). Both work by blocking the male hormones in your body to treat acne and facial hair. I wouldn't be surprised if your gynae has not mentioned this, mine gave me the progesterone only pill which makes acne worse! If your doctor is unsympathetic find a better one who is. love loiloi xx
