You don't say specifically which medications you have tried, but acne usually responds well to a course of oral antibiotics such as Lymecycline or Oxytetracycline. Using a topical retinoid such as Differin will help to speed up healing time, and we would expect to see some clinic improvement after 8 weeks and further improvement with continued use.
If standard treatments result in failure or relapse your GP can refer you to a dermatologist, to be assessed for oral Isotretinoin (Roaccutane/Accutane). This is the strongest acne treatment available but does have many potential side effects.
Once your acne has cleared you can have a chemical skin peel to improve the appearance of post-acne scars.

Hey Jack (im assuming thats your name)
I was basically the same as you, and had acne on my back, chest and face. I had it for a few years, then i discovered a nice routine which helps dramatically for me, like lots and lots so that i have about 20x more confidence.
I went to the doctors and they perscribed all these creams and stuff which never worked. Also i went on a mild antibiotic tablet (one a night) and they only did nothing. I went on this forum seeking help and not much help came back, it was just stuff like 'go see your GP' and when i did i got no results.
This is when i began experimenting and i discovered that for me (im not saying its a definite solution) my skin cleared up dramatically because i modified my diet. And im not talking about becoming super salad man, but i cut down on whites (milk, cheese, butter, potato) as they have starch in them. I try my best to totally cut out junk food (mcdonalds, kfc etc... and also things like potato chips due to the amount of oil). And i notice that when i have some, i either get a small outbreak of pimples or a really annoying cystic pimple on my face which makes the next week of school quite miserable.
I also started drinking lots of water, i have a 750ml bottle which i use and i have about 2-4 in the time that i get home from school to the time i go to sleep. I find all this helps get rid of that 'dirty' feeling on your face when it starts to get oily.Eating more fruit is also a good idea because of the vitamins.
Im no expert on acne, like i dont know all the medical mumbo jumbo concerning medications and stuff, but this info is coming from experience over the last few years.
If you are not getting results from medication (which is normal with some people), atleast give this regime a try for about a month and i really really hope you see results.
If you have any questions about the changing diet thing, give me a shout and ill gladly answer your queries.
