Help with Acne

Silly me, I put my name instead of the subject!  I hope it is okay for me to repost this just in case no one reads the previous post.

So I first got acne when I was somewhere around 13-15.  I am 24 now and I have never had success clearing up my acne.  Some cleansers I have tried include Noxema, Clearasil, and Witch Hazel.  My mom took me to a dermatologist when I was a teen, and the dr. gave me Tetracycline and Retin-a.  I don't remember too much the results, and I may not have used the products very long since I remember not liking the Retin-a very much.  Within the last three months I decided to try Proactive.  It helped clear up the worst of the acne and it seems to keep new ones from forming (I can't remember the last time I had a whitehead), but beyond that, it seems like I have reached a plateau.  I still have red bumps all over my face (no area except my nose left untouched!) and neck.  I also suffer some acne on my back and chest.

I would like any recommendations on the best course of action, because yes, I am tired of acne and would like to see my 20's without it instead of taking the time to try each product.  I notice that maybe I can buy the same products cheaper than going with Proactive, and I hope there may be a product that can completely clear up my face, instead of just the worst of it.  I also notice three main different "active ingredients" sold in otc products - benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur, so I wonder what the best one is.

Any help would be appreciated,
Nicole

I have found that dalcyn-t roll on is a great product for clearing up acne as well as (stupid as it sounds) drinking plenty of water!! as for getting rid of the red lumps post-acne, i know laser treatment is extremely effective or failing that you can get a cream from Samurai Woman called redness reducer and it contains something that  shrinks the vessels that causes the redness. hope this helps!!
