Herpes

by neverlessalive, Aug 03, 2009 05:24PM
So im 15 years old, and three and a half weeks ago i hooked up with this girl when i was intoxicated, and about 3 days ago i noticed my throat was irritated, and i looked at my throat last night and there are bumbs on the back of my tongue and the back roof of my mouth, they arnt blisters because there isnt any white stuff on them, but i am still extremely concerned that i might have oral herpes, the bumbs on the back of my tongue are larger then the ones on the back of my throat, im really scared that it could be herpes, what is the chance that it is?

Hi. You may wish to repost this in another forum. I am only an expert on the skin condition acne (pimples which occur on greasy areas of skin such as the face, chest and back -and not what you describe).
Herpes simplex virus usually manifests itself as crusty lesions on the side of the mouth which tingle. This girl could have been suffering from a throat infection though.
Have you spoken to her? Or are you no longer in contact?
Eloise.

You can be pretty sure this is not herpes, which appears as coldsores near the mouth, rather than what you describe.
There was quite a long time inbetween you kissing this girl and developing symptoms. You may have an infection which is totally unrelated to kissing her. See your doctor, you may need a course of antibiotics.
Eloise.
