Hives are a more likely side affect of an antibiotic which is the cephalexin, it isnt harmful (unless you are actually allergic to the antibiotic) but can be itchy, usually the hives/nettle rash will dissappear after a while.

The accutane will cause you to have very dry skin which i'm sure you have been made aware of, so make sure you are moisturising and drink plenty of water.

Stopping taking your medications for a few days will reduce their effectiveness - think of it as when you start taking it again it has to start its process all over again. The accutane i would say is the most important part of your treatment and should not be stopped and started. The same goes for antibiotics they will not work if you stop and start them.

If the rash seems to be a persistant problem and doesnt go away on its own, or if you begin to feel ill consult your doctor/dermatologist for further advice.

Did you ever stop accutane? Or did you finish all six months with out stopping? And how long did it take to go away and did it itch?

If you have a dermatologist you should think about visiting him. This could be a serious problem.

you have to go to the dermatoligist every month and get a blood test,, so that wasnt really helpful. but thanks.

What you taking the Cephalexin for?
If you are taking it for your acne there should be no need, since Accutane is the strongest acne medication available and is used when antibiotics have resulted in failure or relapse.
Accutane can result in itchy, red skin. To minimise this, use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser such as Cetaphil. Talk to your Dermatologist about temporarily reducing the dose.
If a severe allergic reaction occurs (bad rash, difficulty breathing, closing of the airways, swelling of tongue or fingers) seek medical attention immediately.

i got dry red bumpy skin to from accutane anything that touched my skin i would react to i asked my doctor he said it was normal as it is making ur skin tissue thinner he just gave me some skin food i think?? (white cream) and just moisturised most days i suggest girls that are on accutane not to wear jewllery on the arms.but i totally 100% reccomend acccutane the only thing that got rid of my acne and i tryed heaps!Proactive is crap dont be fooled by the celebrity status on it.Photodynamic therapy is the worst thing i went threw to trat acne its was so painfull.

I would be careful taking antibiotics to treat acne, esp if you are on Accutane.
